Sean Payton resumes play-calling duties for Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton has announced he will resume offensive play-calling duties starting in Week 5. The decision follows a period of offensive struggles for the team, which currently ranks 27th in total offense and 27th in points per game.

Offensive coordinator Davis Webb, who was previously given the responsibility of calling plays, expressed disappointment regarding the demotion but noted he remains in charge of offensive meetings and supporting the quarterback room. Payton intends to be directly involved in the ear of quarterback Bo Nix during upcoming games.

The move comes as the Broncos look to improve their performance following a 2-2 start to the season. Analysts have pointed to Bo Nix's recent struggles, including low adjusted yards per attempt and a lack of deep passing, as a contributing factor to the team's offensive stagnation.
