Love Island USA Season 8: First Elimination and Fan Backlash

Peacock's Love Island USA returned for its eighth season on June 2, filming on Fiji. The early weeks introduced three bombshells, reshuffling the original couplings.

During the first recoupling on June 7, police officer and single dad Sean Reifel was left single after his partner Kenzie chose the new bombshell Corbin Mims. Trinity Tatum then opted to stay with Bryce Detloff, sealing Sean's elimination. The episode marked the season's first islander to be dumped.

Fans quickly rallied on social media, urging the producers to bring Sean back, with many calling him a genuine favorite. Some speculated a possible return during the Casa Amor twist.

The recoupling also paired Kenzie with Corbin, while other couples settled as Melanie & Sincere, Beatriz & Gabriel, Aniya & KC, Trinity & Bryce, and Kayda & Zach.
