Search continues for missing 11-month-old baby in Sivas
Search operations continue for 11-month-old Büşra, who has been missing for 57 days in the rural Göndüren village of Divriği, Sivas. Despite extensive efforts by AFAD and Gendarmerie teams using drones and dogs, no traces of the infant have been found since her disappearance on September 10, 2026.
The investigation has taken a complex turn following conflicting statements from the family. While initial reports suggested wild animals might have taken the child, the mother, E. B., later changed her testimony, alleging that the father, Y. B., killed the baby. She also made claims that the father had sold the infant. Based on these suspicious statements, six individuals, including the parents, have been arrested.
Authorities previously recovered a t-shirt, a bodysuit, and a diaper approximately 3 km from the family's tent. These items have been sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine if they belong to the baby and to check for evidence such as blood. Investigators are currently awaiting these forensic results to advance the case.
