Search continues for missing 18-year-old hiker in NSW national park

A large-scale multi-agency search is underway for Lily Hooper, an experienced 18-year-old hiker who has been missing for more than two days in New South Wales' Nattai National Park.

Ms. Hooper was last seen leaving her home in Oakdale on Wednesday morning. Her vehicle was subsequently located near the Bonnum Pic walking track, a rugged area featuring dense bush and rocky terrain. Despite her experience as a hiker, authorities have expressed grave concerns for her safety.

The search operation involves NSW Police, the State Emergency Service (SES), fire services, and the Lifesaver 21 rescue helicopter crew. Recent efforts have expanded to include drones, specialist trail-bike riders, and personnel from the Australian Defence Force. NSW Premier Chris Minns expressed support for the family as search teams continue to navigate the difficult landscape.
