Search continues for missing 77-year-old Alzheimer patient in Adana

Police, AFAD and volunteer rescue teams are still searching for 77‑year‑old Rasih Özmen, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and asthma, after he failed to return home in Adana on 30 July. He left his house in the Seyhan district to pay an electricity bill and was last seen on security camera footage walking in the Kurttepe neighbourhood of Çukurova.

Search efforts have been concentrated around the Çatalan West Bridge near Seyhan Reservoir and the surrounding forested area. Investigators are reviewing nearby MOBESE camera recordings and checking vehicle licence‑plate data in case he boarded a car. The family has appealed for public assistance as temperatures rise, urging anyone with information to contact the 112 emergency call centre.
