Search continues for missing teen in Adıyaman's Göksu River

On 12‑13 June 2026, four young people entered the Göksu River near the historic Kızılin Bridge in Besni district, Adıyaman Province, Turkey, to cool off after a wedding ceremony. Three of them – V. A. (17), Hasan G. (20) and Ali Y. (19) – were rescued by nearby bystanders and police diver teams, but the fourth, 20‑year‑old İsa Ö. (also reported as İsa Özkol), was swept away by the current and remains missing.

Search‑and‑rescue operations involving AFAD, UMKE, health services, the gendarmerie and police divers have been ongoing, with local officials including the district governor and the mayor monitoring the effort. The strong river flow has hampered the divers’ attempts to locate the missing teen.
