Search for Missing Yeditepe University Student Hamza Duras Continues in Safranbolu, Turkey

Hamza Duras, a 22‑year‑old Yeditepe University computer engineering student, boarded a bus in Safranbolu on 31 May bound for Istanbul but never arrived. His family lost contact with him on 3 June; his phone became unreachable on 9 June, prompting a missing‑person report.

Authorities and volunteers have been searching the Kent Ormanı Çamtarla area of Safranbolu. The operation includes gendarmerie, AFAD, police, civil‑society groups and volunteers, deploying about 60 personnel, 20 vehicles, five drones and a K9 tracking dog. As of the latest reports, the search remains ongoing with no sign of Duras.

The family says Hamza had mentioned plans to explore the nearby forests with friends before disappearing, and a local resident reported seeing him in the area around 6‑7 June. The investigation continues while the community assists in the effort.
