Search dogs arrive in Suriname to find missing producer Rodney Leysner

A search operation is underway in Suriname for missing Dutch film producer Rodney Leysner, who has been unaccounted for since August 15. Leysner disappeared while traveling to an appointment in the Saramacca district.

Following the discovery of Leysner’s burnt-out Kia Sorento in a swamp area, the Surinamese Public Prosecutor approved a request from Leysner’s family to utilize specialized search dogs. A team from the Netherlands, consisting of 15 staff members and 10 search dogs from the Stichting Reddingshonden RHWW, arrived in Suriname on Monday to assist the Capital Crimes department.

The investigation involves multiple agencies, including the Drone Unit, Forensic Investigation, and the Military Police. While three suspects have reportedly been detained, the whereabouts of Leysner remain unknown, and authorities are continuing their search across various locations using the canine team.
