Search expands for missing Swiss man in Monterotondo Marittimo

Search operations continue for a 48-year-old Swiss national who disappeared in the Frassine area of Monterotondo Marittimo. Despite recent efforts involving firefighters, Carabinieri, alpine rescue, and drones, no trace of the man has been found.

Specialized teams equipped with cadaver dogs are scheduled to join the search starting October 15. Authorities have alerted the prefectures of Livorno and Pisa to coordinate search efforts beyond the province of Grosseto due to the rugged, wooded terrain. The missing man was last seen wearing a maroon shirt, green shorts, and sandals. Officials have advised the public not to approach him if spotted to avoid scaring him, but to call emergency services immediately.
