Search for Missing 84‑Year‑Old Nancy Guthrie Continues in Arizona
Nancy Guthrie, an 84‑year‑old resident of Tucson, Arizona and mother of NBC news anchor Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her home on the evening of 31 January and was reported missing the following day. Four months later, no suspect has been identified and the investigation remains ongoing.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told local media that the prolonged search is due to reliance on laboratory work, DNA testing and digital‑forensic analysis, which must not be rushed to avoid missteps. The sheriff’s office, working together with the FBI, says tips continue to be reviewed and forensic evidence is still being processed.
Savannah Guthrie has repeatedly appealed for information, posting tributes on social media and urging anyone with knowledge to contact authorities. The case has attracted national attention but investigators caution that progress is gradual as they sift through digital footprints, lab results and other evidence.
