Search for missing fishermen expands toward Lumut, Perak
Search operations have been expanded toward Lumut, Perak, to locate two fishermen missing after their boat capsized near Pulau Ketam. The search follows the discovery of the body of 43-year-old Mohd. Shahril Abd. Rahman in the waters of Hutan Melintang, approximately 103 kilometers from the original disappearance site at One Fathom Bank.
The two remaining missing individuals are Muhammad Ridzuan Ruhaizat, 37, and Raja Mohd. Rozi Raja Mohamud, 49. Maritime enforcement agencies are conducting aerial and sea searches across large areas, including Bagan Datuk and Tanjong Karang. Indonesian national search and rescue teams are providing assistance in deep waters near the maritime border.
Four other members of the original group of seven, including the boat skipper, were rescued by local fishermen and taken to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah for treatment. The group had set out from Sementa Jetty to fish when they encountered heavy winds and rough seas.
