Search operations continue for missing elderly woman in Nusa Penida

Search and rescue operations are underway in Nusa Penida, Indonesia, for 79-year-old Ni Nyoman Selir, who has been missing since Monday, August 24. CCTV footage and witness accounts indicate she left her home in Suana Village heading toward the hills, stating she intended to buy medicine at a market. A joint SAR team was mobilized following reports from local authorities after family and residents were unable to locate her.

In a separate incident, four individuals—Wardi, Supriadi, Arudin, and Irfan—were found safe after being lost for nearly five days in the Gunung Bedung forest in Natuna. The SAR Natuna team located the group on Friday, August 28, after navigating steep and hilly terrain. The individuals were found in a weakened state due to exhaustion and were provided with food and water for initial recovery.
