Search operations recover bodies of missing fishermen in Argentine rivers
Authorities have recovered the bodies of two men following separate incidents involving missing fishermen in Argentina.
In the Bermejo River, the body of 32-year-old Marcos Santos Salto was located on the Formosa coast. Salto had been missing since October 22, after entering the water to fish near Pampa del Indio in the Chaco province. The recovery followed extensive search operations involving the police, fire departments, and the Argentine Naval Prefecture, utilizing drones and boats to inspect the riverbanks.
In a separate incident, the body of Gustavo Fabián Muñoz was found floating near a nautical nursery in Granadero Baigorria on the Paraná River. Muñoz had been missing since October 15, when a boat capsized near Fray Luis Beltrán. His identity was confirmed by the Medical Legal Institute and recognized by his family. While Muñoz has been identified, authorities continue to search for Héctor Flores, another fisherman who remains missing following the same shipwreck. A third individual, Ezequiel Stegmann, was previously found deceased in the Paraná River near Villa Gobernador Gálvez.
