Search operations underway for missing man in Scotland
Emergency services are searching for a man reported seen in the water at Largs during strong winds. HM Coastguard was alerted around 12:20 am on Tuesday following reports that a person was swept into the sea by large waves.
The missing individual is described as a tall, slim white male in his 20s with no facial hair, wearing all black including a jacket with the hood up. While extensive searches involving helicopters, planes, and RNLI lifeboats from Largs and Troon were conducted, the operation was temporarily suspended after no one was found.
Police Scotland is appealing for information and seeking to identify two men who were in the area near Burnlea Road around the time of the incident. The search follows a yellow weather warning for strong winds in Scotland, with gusts reaching up to 70 mph.
