Juana Barraza reappears in wheelchair at Tepepan prison

Juana Barraza Samperio, the notorious serial killer known as ‘La Mataviejitas’, has reappeared in public via video footage recorded at the Tepepan Women's Prison in Mexico City. In the recordings, Barraza is seen using a wheelchair and appearing visibly aged.

The footage was captured during a visit by Deputy Rebeca Peralta, who distributed hygiene kits, footwear, and hearing aids to female inmates. Barraza expressed gratitude to the deputy for the ongoing support provided to the prison population.

Barraza is currently serving a 759-year sentence for the murders of 16 elderly women and 12 robberies. Her recent physical condition follows previous health struggles, including renal insufficiency and a femur fracture resulting from a fall in 2023.
