Seascape Energy expands Temaris gas acreage offshore Malaysia
Seascape Energy has reached a letter of agreement with Petronas to expand its Temaris Cluster Small Field Asset production sharing contract (PSC) offshore Peninsular Malaysia. The 547-square-kilometre extension, located north and east of the current acreage, will increase the total PSC area by approximately 45% to roughly 1,770 square kilometres.
Seascape holds a 100% interest in the PSC, which is situated in approximately 70 metres of water on the western flank of the Malay Basin. The expansion covers a continuation of the Miocene sandstone system associated with the Tembakau and Mengkuang gas discoveries. The additional acreage has the potential to double the net mean prospective resources previously identified in the area.
The company has restarted its farm-out process to seek a partner before submitting a field development and abandonment plan in late 2026. The work programme includes processing new 3D seismic data and drilling a contingent exploration well. Seascape intends to develop the Tembakau discovery first, targeting production in the second half of 2028 at 100 million standard cubic feet per day.
