Seaside, Oregon rescuers locate two missing persons safe on land

Two individuals reported missing in the ocean near Seaside, Oregon, were located safely on land following search operations on Monday, August 24.

Seaside Fire and Rescue responded to the initial report at approximately 4:41 p.m. While crews were searching for the first person using a rescue jet ski, a second person was reported missing in the water. This prompted the deployment of a second jet ski and the involvement of the U.S. Coast Guard, which conducted aerial searches along the shoreline. Both individuals were confirmed to be safe on land after about an hour of searching.

Authorities used the incident to issue a safety reminder, urging the public to immediately notify first responders if a missing person is located. Officials noted that timely updates allow emergency resources to be redirected to other calls. Fire Marshal Genesee Dennis also advised swimmers to know their limits and avoid swimming alone.
