Millonarios confronts player exits, fan ticket boycott and fresh signings for 2026 second half

Colombian club Millonarios saw seven players leave ahead of the 2026 second semester, including star striker Radamel Falcao, goalkeepers Guillermo de Amores and Diego Novoa, attackers Álex Castro and Jorge Cabezas Hurtado, defender Nicolás Giraldo and midfielder Beckham David Castro, the latter sold to Lugano for about $1 million.

Supporters launched a campaign urging fans not to purchase season tickets for the 2026‑2 BetPlay league, protesting the club’s recent poor results, the loss of key players and the announced price of a pre‑season friendly. In response, Millonarios reduced ticket prices by roughly 15 % and limited the new season ticket to eight home matches, offering several price tiers and discounts for long‑time members, bank‑card holders and Cafam partners.

To rebuild the squad, the club confirmed five new signings: Ecuadorian goalkeeper Javier Burrai as the primary replacement for Novoa, backup keeper Joan Parra, forward Francisco Chaverra, midfielder Daniel Ruiz and defender Darwin Cortés returning from loan. The management hopes the additions will help the team qualify for the championship quadrangulars and contend for the title.
