Seasonal autumn maintenance for skincare and footwear

As autumn approaches, seasonal transitions require adjustments to personal care routines for both skin and footwear to combat cooler, drier weather.

For skincare, experts recommend switching to gentler, more hydrating cleansers to prevent tightness and dryness caused by wind and indoor heating. Incorporating serums containing hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or panthenol can help maintain moisture levels. Additionally, continued use of sunscreen is advised to protect against UV radiation, which can still cause pigmentation and premature aging. Strengthening the skin barrier with ingredients like ceramides and squalane is also suggested.

Regarding footwear, proper impregnation is essential to protect various materials—including leather, suede, nubuck, and canvas—from rain and moisture. Applying a water-repellent protective layer helps droplets bead off the surface. For best results, shoes should be cleaned and completely dry before treatment is applied.
