Seasonal changes arrive in Kopački Rit and Split

In Croatia, September brings distinct seasonal changes to both nature and coastal areas. In the Kopački Rit Nature Park, the deer rutting season is underway. During this period, male red deer (Cervus elaphus) use loud calls to attract females and warn competitors, a phenomenon most audible during twilight, night, and dawn. This intense period of competition and mating often leads to significant weight loss for the males.

Meanwhile, at the Bačvice beach in Split, the atmosphere has transitioned to a calmer post-summer rhythm. While crowds are significantly smaller than in July and August, visitors continue to enjoy the warm weather and sea. Temperatures in Split have remained pleasant, around 28 degrees Celsius, allowing for continued sunbathing and swimming despite the arrival of autumn.
