Seasonal floral blooms peak in Engaru and Niiza

Various seasonal floral displays are reaching peak bloom across different regions in Japan.

In Engaru Town, the Taiyo no Oka Engaru Park Cosmos Garden is preparing for its peak season from late August to late September. The 10-hectare field features approximately 10 million cosmos flowers of about 20 different varieties. The garden is maintained through the efforts of over 2,000 local volunteers annually who assist with weeding and seed collection.

In Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture, the Ichibazaka Kitsune-no-kamisori no Sato site is currently showcasing vibrant orange blooms. The area hosts approximately 50,000 plants of Kitsune-no-kamisori, a near-threatened species, across a 10,000-square-meter habitat. The peak viewing period for these flowers typically occurs from early to mid-August.
