Autumn hair loss: Causes and management strategies

Seasonal hair loss is a common occurrence during autumn, often linked to the hair's natural growth cycle or a condition known as telogen effluvium. This condition occurs when a larger number of hair follicles enter a resting phase, often triggered by stressors such as high fever, surgery, childbirth, or significant weight loss experienced two to three months prior.

Experts note that summer damage from UV radiation, chlorine, and salt water can exacerbate hair fragility. To mitigate these effects, dermatologists and hair care professionals recommend a combination of internal and external care. Key nutritional elements include iron, selenium, biotin, vitamins B and E, and proteins.

For topical care, specialized shampoos containing ingredients like rosemary extract, caffeine, niacinamide, and peptides are suggested to stimulate microcirculation and strengthen the hair fiber. Professional salon treatments and the use of nutricosmetics or transdermal patches are also highlighted as effective methods for restoring volume and density.
