Seasonal outdoor activities and cross-country skiing preparations
In Valle d’Aosta, Italy, seasonal tourism is shifting toward animal-assisted experiences. Travelers can engage in horseback riding through the valleys of Cogne, Valsavarenche, Rhêmes, and Valgrisenche via the La Granzetta equestrian center. Additionally, trekking with donkeys and mules is available in Valpelline through Esprisarvadzo, offering a slower pace while traversing rural landscapes, ancient irrigation channels, and local farms.
In Sweden, cross-country skiing locations are preparing for early season openings using snow preserved from the summer. Idre Fjäll aims to open five kilometers of tracks by October 23. Orsa Grönklitt plans to open on October 24, utilizing a 24,000 cubic meter snow reserve to potentially reach six kilometers of trails. Vålådalen is also scheduled to open on October 24 with approximately 4.9 kilometers of tracks, while Bruksvallarna is preparing a 1.4-kilometer circuit.
