Seasonal tips for outdoor living and heat-resistant gardening

As summer transitions toward autumn, seasonal adjustments for outdoor living and gardening can help maintain garden enjoyment despite cooling temperatures or extreme heat.

To extend outdoor social gatherings during cooler evenings, outdoor blankets serve as a practical solution. Materials such as cotton or linen-cotton blends are suitable for mild temperatures, while wool provides better warmth for colder or damp conditions. For areas exposed to high humidity or UV rays, technical polyester fabrics with waterproof backing or insect-repellent treatments are recommended.

In response to summer heatwaves, certain plant species are better suited for high temperatures. The Bougainvillea, for instance, thrives in intense sunlight and can actually be stimulated to bloom more vibrantly by slight water stress. Unlike many plants that wilt in heat, these species utilize biological mechanisms to flourish when temperatures rise.
