SEAT gains market share in Spain through increased affordability
SEAT is experiencing a resurgence in the Spanish automotive market, driven largely by increased affordability. Data from ANFAC indicates that between January and August 2026, Spain saw over 818,000 new car registrations, a 6.3 percent increase.
The SEAT Ibiza has seen significant growth, with registrations rising by 27.1 percent to 19,837 units, helping it challenge the Dacia Sandero for the top spot. Additionally, the SEAT Arona is approaching 15,000 registrations, performing strongly against competitors like the Peugeot 2008 and Toyota Yaris Cross.
In terms of overall brand performance, SEAT recorded 47,829 registrations, placing it in a close competition with Renault for third place in the total market. Toyota remains the leading manufacturer in Spain with 71,512 total registrations, followed by Volkswagen.
