Seat Leon and Fiat Pandina drive budget new‑car market in Poland

European manufacturers are lowering entry‑level prices to stay competitive against Chinese rivals. Seat offers the Leon in a well‑equipped base trim for about 92,000 zł, featuring a 1.5‑litre 115 hp engine, advanced driver‑assist systems, automatic climate control and a 10.4‑inch digital cockpit. Fuel consumption is quoted at roughly 5.5 l/100 km, and the model can accelerate to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds.

At the lower end of the market, Fiat has introduced the Pandina 1.0 Hybrid—the cheapest new car available in Polish showrooms at 54,900 zł. The hybrid combines a 1‑litre naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a 48‑volt electric system, delivering 70 hp and a six‑speed manual gearbox. Standard equipment includes a 7‑inch touchscreen, climate control, parking sensors and a suite of driver‑assist features, though electric mirrors are absent. The vehicle records a mixed‑cycle consumption of about 5 l/100 km and reaches 100 km/h in 13.9 seconds.

Both models aim to retain buyers who might otherwise turn to increasingly equipped Chinese brands, emphasizing extensive standard equipment and competitive running costs while maintaining European production and service networks.
