Seatrium and Karpowership partner for Whale Class Powership conversions

Seatrium Limited and Karpowership have entered into a contract for the development, conversion, and integration of five third-generation hydrogen-ready Whale Class Powerships. These floating power plants are designed to provide flexible and sustainable energy solutions to meet rising global electricity demand.

Seatrium will manage equipment integration, mechanical completion, and pre-commissioning works. The first vessel is scheduled to arrive at the Seatrium Tuas Boulevard Yard in December 2027. The Whale Class vessels are engineered to deploy up to 600 MW of grid-ready power and feature multi-fuel generation systems capable of utilizing hydrogen.
