Seattle Mariners defeat Philadelphia Phillies 4-1

The Seattle Mariners defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday night. Despite a strong performance from Phillies starter Aaron Nola, who pitched six innings and allowed only two runs while striking out seven, the Philadelphia offense struggled to produce scoring.

The Phillies took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning following consecutive singles by Bryson Stott, Brandon Marsh, and Justin Crawford. However, the Mariners responded with a solo home run from Cal Raleigh in the second inning to tie the game. In the sixth inning, Josh Naylor hit an RBI single to give Seattle the lead.

The game was effectively decided in the seventh inning when reliever Orion Kerkering loaded the bases. Subsequent relief from Brooks Raley resulted in a two-run single by Dominic Canzone. Although the Phillies attempted a comeback in the ninth inning with two walks, Bryan De La Cruz struck out to end the game. The Phillies now face the possibility of a sweep in the series.
