Seattle Mariners players Cal Raleigh and Josh Naylor undergo surgery
The Seattle Mariners announced that catcher Cal Raleigh and first baseman Josh Naylor underwent surgeries on October 3 to address injuries sustained during the 2026 season.
Cal Raleigh received a left shoulder acromioclavicular (AC) joint debridement at the University of Washington Medical Center. After a historic 2025 season, Raleigh saw a decline in production in 2026, batting .182 with 23 home runs and 69 RBIs over 126 games.
Josh Naylor underwent a triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) repair on his right wrist at the same medical center. Naylor finished the 2026 season batting .261 with 10 home runs and 30 stolen bases.
Both players are expected to be fully recovered and ready for the start of spring training in February.
