Seattle Police increase presence in downtown and Belltown

The Seattle Police Department has announced an increased presence in the downtown and Belltown areas following a recent wave of violence. This decision follows a 24-hour period involving three separate shootings that resulted in three deaths and three injuries.

Interim Police Chief Andre Sayles stated that detectives are investigating the recent shootings, noting that authorities consider the incidents separate and unrelated. The increased patrols will include high-visibility uniformed officers conducting both car and bike patrols throughout the West Precinct, including the downtown core and Belltown.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson addressed the violence in a public appearance, offering condolences to the families of the victims.
