Seattle Public Library and Girard Free Library Launch Summer Reading Programs
The Seattle Public Library unveiled its all‑ages "Summer Quest" program, inviting children, teens and adults to log 30 days of reading, doing and going activities for rewards such as free books, e‑readers and gift‑card raffles. Participants receive a printable activity tracker available in multiple languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese, and can attend library‑hosted events ranging from pet‑painting to sound‑bath sessions.
In Ohio, the Girard Free Library kicked off its "Unearth a Story" summer reading initiative with a foam‑party on the library lawn, encouraging kids to bring towels and swimwear. The program also features an archaeology presentation by YSU professor Matt O’Mansky, a "Dad does my hair" workshop, and various community gatherings such as a strawberry social and luau‑themed luncheon. Registration is required for most events.
