Seattle Seahawks pass on Joe Mixon after failed physical
The Seattle Seahawks have decided not to sign veteran running back Joe Mixon to their practice squad after he failed to pass a physical. Mixon, 30, had missed the 2025 season due to a foot injury following a Pro Bowl season with the Houston Texans in 2024.
In place of Mixon, the Seahawks plan to sign undrafted rookie Robert Henry Jr. from the Washington Commanders’ practice squad. The move comes as Seattle seeks backfield depth following several injuries. Rookie Jadarian Price is currently on injured reserve with a chest injury, and Zach Charbonnet is recovering from a torn ACL.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed Mixon participated in a workout but did not specify the details of the signing decision. The team currently relies on Emanuel Wilson and George Holani to manage the running back position.
