Seattle Sounders host Sporting Kansas City in MLS matchup

The Seattle Sounders will host Sporting Kansas City at Lumen Field as both teams look to capitalize on recent momentum. The Sounders currently occupy the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with 35 points, holding a slim lead over several chasing clubs. Seattle enters the matchup following a seven-game unbeaten streak, including recent victories over Real Salt Lake and Minnesota United.

Sporting Kansas City remains at the bottom of the MLS standings with 21 points, making their playoff hopes unlikely with only eight matches remaining. However, head coach Raphael Wicky expressed optimism following two wins in their last three league games, including a 2-0 shutout against the Houston Dynamo. While Seattle aims to maintain their position in the playoff race, Sporting Kansas City seeks to build confidence through their recent competitive performances.
