SeaWorld Ends 25-Year Original Horror Tradition with Licensed ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ House

SeaWorld announced that its Howl‑O‑Scream Halloween events at SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Diego and SeaWorld San Antonio will feature a new licensed haunted house for the first time. The attraction, titled “I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch,” is based on Sony Pictures’ 1997 slasher film and will open on September 11, 2026 at all three parks. Guests will walk through recreations of scenes from the Southport massacre and encounter the hook‑wielding Fisherman from the movie. United Parks & Resorts CEO Marc Swanson said the addition is an “exciting milestone” and part of the company’s most ambitious Howl‑O‑Scream lineup yet. The change ends a 25‑year tradition in which Howl‑O‑Scream relied solely on original monsters, stories and haunted houses, marking a shift toward licensed IP for the event.
