Sebahattin Sirin detained after Istanbul police raid

Turkish police have detained Sebahattin Sirin, the leader of the ultrAslan supporters' group for Galatasaray, following an extensive raid on his Istanbul home. During an eight-hour search, authorities seized over 840,000 euros in cash, along with gold, jewelry, and various foreign currencies valued at more than 300,000 euros. Officers also discovered a pistol, ammunition, and four bulletproof vests.

Sirin faces several charges, including black-market ticket sales, causing public disturbances at sporting venues, spreading false information, and organized crime. The arrest follows a social media post by Sirin in which he accused Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek of being part of a group attempting to favor Fenerbahce, Galatasaray’s primary rival, in the championship race. Neither the Ministry of Justice nor Fenerbahce has officially responded to these allegations.
