Sebastiaan Bornauw nears move from Leeds United to Hamburg

Belgian defender Sebastiaan Bornauw is set to leave Leeds United to rejoin the Bundesliga with Hamburg. Reports indicate that an agreement has been reached for a loan deal, which may include an option to purchase estimated at approximately 5 million euros.

Bornauw, 27, is expected to undergo medical examinations shortly. His move to England with Leeds United did not yield the expected results, as he saw limited playing time, appearing in only 17 matches during the previous campaign.

The defender brings significant experience to Hamburg, having previously played 140 matches in the Bundesliga for clubs including Cologne and Wolfsburg. This move marks a return to the German league for the former Anderlecht academy product.
