Sebastian Fitzek calls for smartphone ban in bedrooms

Bestselling author Sebastian Fitzek is advocating for a strict ban on smartphones in the bedroom to combat rising screen time and constant availability. Comparing mobile phone usage to addiction, Fitzek described the difference between reading books and using a smartphone as being akin to the difference between chocolate and crack.

Fitzek, who has sold over 21 million books worldwide since 2006, labeled the smartphone an ‘absolute time killer.’ He also shared that a research trip to a therapist unexpectedly turned into a session to address his own smartphone addiction.
