Sebastian Lege tackles Mexican tamarind candy challenge on ZDF

German food‑developer Sebastian Lege appears in ZDF’s culinary competition “besseresser challenge: USA vs. Mexico”. In Mexico City he must recreate the popular tamarind lollipop “Banderillas Micho Tamarinde” without a recipe, relying only on taste and texture. To earn the necessary kitchen tools he first sparring‑matches against Lucha Libre wrestlers in a gym.

Meanwhile journalist Florian Reza faces a New York task: learning to make authentic New‑York‑style pizza and then delivering three fresh pies by bicycle across Manhattan under a tight deadline. The show blends cooking, travel and physical challenges. It also marks the end of Lege’s cooperation with ZDF, as he will move to RTL Deutschland in January 2027.
