Sebastian Vettel discusses Red Bull exit and bond with Lewis Hamilton

In the documentary ‘Being Sebastian Vettel’, former four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel addressed the factors that led to his departure from Red Bull for Ferrari. Vettel noted that the arrival of Daniel Ricciardo played a significant role in his decision. He described feeling frustrated by a lack of performance during the transition to the hybrid era, noting that Ricciardo adapted more effectively to the new regulations.

Vettel explained that self-doubt and a loss of competitive security influenced his move, stating he was ready for a “new adventure” after no longer feeling able to perform at his best.

Additionally, Lewis Hamilton commented on his enduring relationship with Vettel, attributing their connection to their similar upbringings. Hamilton noted that neither driver came from a privileged background, which helped foster mutual respect despite their intense championship rivalries.
