Sebastian Wheldon joins Trident for 2027 Formula 3 season

Sebastian Wheldon will make his debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2027, joining the prominent team Trident. The 17-year-old driver holds both American and British citizenship.

Wheldon enters the category following a successful 2026 season in the Formula Regional European Championship, where he finished as runner-up. His career progression includes winning the Skip Barber Formula Race Series in the United States and competing in various junior categories. He is supported by TWG Motorsports and Andretti Global.

Trident is recognized as a leading team in Formula 3, having secured multiple consecutive driver titles. Wheldon noted that while there is pressure to perform for such a successful team, he is eager to embrace the challenge and learn quickly.
