Sebastiano Esposito dispute with Cagliari escalates
Cagliari Calcio’s striker Sebastiano Esposito is at the centre of a growing conflict with the club. His agent Mario Giuffredi has publicly accused former sporting director Pietro Accardi of being a “terror‑stricken puppet” and blamed coach Fabio Pisacane for neglecting the player’s situation. Giuffredi says the club was fully aware of Esposito’s personal needs and that the dispute stems from a salary demand of €1.7‑€1.8 million per season, which the club allegedly offered only €1.2 million.
Market talks continue, with Cagliari reportedly setting a transfer fee of €20 million in cash, potentially reducible to €18 million. Analyst Alfredo Pedullà notes that a direct meeting with club president Tommaso Giulini never took place, further worsening relations. The case remains unresolved, and Giuffredi warned that any further club statements will be met with additional disclosures.
