Sebastien Ogier to contest final WRC rounds after Finland crash

French rally driver Sébastien Ogier suffered a high‑speed crash during the Rally Finland, where his Toyota GR Yaris left the road, rolled several times and resulted in a mild concussion. Both Ogier and co‑driver Julien Ingrassia were taken to hospital for precautionary checks and were released unharmed. The incident cost Ogier a zero‑point finish and dropped him to fifth place in the World Rally Championship, 62 points behind leader Elfyn Evans.

Despite the setback, Ogier announced on social media that he will compete in the remaining four events of the season – the rallies in Paraguay, Chile, Italy‑Sardinia and Saudi Arabia – with his regular co‑driver Vincent Landais. He reiterated his goal of winning all four rounds to keep alive his bid for a historic tenth WRC title. Toyota technical director Tom Fowler said the crash was not caused by a technical fault, and team principal Jari‑Matti Latvala expressed confidence that Ogier will return to competition.

Ogier’s decision extends his original plan of contesting ten of the fourteen season events to the full twelve, underscoring his determination to chase the record‑breaking title.
