Sebastián Marroquín to present lecture in Lima

Sebastián Marroquín, the son of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, is traveling to Lima, Peru, for his first visit to the country to present his international lecture, ‘Una Historia para No Repetir’ (A Story Not to be Repeated).

The 90-minute presentation, scheduled for October 7 at the Auditorio Alfonso Ugarte in San Isidro, focuses on Marroquín’s personal experiences growing up within a family defined by narcotics, power, and violence. Having presented the lecture in over 40 countries, Marroquín aims to provide a unique perspective that differs from cinematic or television portrayals by sharing his firsthand account of the consequences of his father’s legacy.

Marroquín, who is an architect, writer, and international speaker, will address his childhood, his relationship with his father, and the impact of the drug trade on his family environment. The lecture also seeks to challenge popular myths and cultural representations of Pablo Escobar by offering the viewpoint of someone who lived through the reality of that era.
