Sebastián Villa denies rumors of joining River Plate

Colombian forward Sebastián Villa has addressed rumors linking him to River Plate during the recent transfer market. In an interview with Desde La Boca, Villa stated that there was never a real possibility of him joining the club, asserting that his family and close circle were aware that his sole intention was to return to Boca Juniors.

Villa also denied reports that he had made financial claims against Boca Juniors following his departure in 2023. He emphasized his loyalty to the institution, noting that while he received offers from clubs in Brazil and Saudi Arabia, he chose to return to Boca. The striker's return follows a period of legal challenges, including a 2023 conviction for gender violence and a subsequent acquittal in a separate sexual abuse case.
