Sebastián Villa draws interest from Brazilian clubs and aims for Colombian side Atlético Nacional
Colombian forward Sebastián Villa, 28, is a key attacking player for Independiente Rivadavia in Argentina. Argentine media report that three Brazilian Serie A clubs – Atlético‑MG, Grêmio and Cruzeiro – have made inquiries about a possible transfer before the next window, though Villa remains under contract until June 2026.
Villa also said on a podcast that he hopes to join Colombian giants Atlético Nacional in the second half of 2026, after being omitted from Colombia’s final World Cup squad. He previously played for Deportes Tolima in Colombia and won two domestic titles there. Villa’s career includes a successful spell at Boca Juniors, where he won seven Argentine titles.
His off‑field history includes a conviction in Argentina for gender‑based violence, resulting in a two‑year‑plus prison sentence served under conditional release, and an extrajudicial settlement in a separate case. These legal issues have been cited as obstacles in past transfer discussions.
