Sebastián Villa's Boca Juniors transfer delayed by Supercopa Argentina clause

Independiente Rivadavia has conditioned the sale of Colombian winger Sebastián Villa to Boca Juniors on his participation in the Supercopa Argentina against Estudiantes de La Plata on 21 July. The club’s leadership, headed by Daniel Vila, wants Villa to feature in the match before finalising the move, despite a reported release clause of $7 million.

Boca Juniors intend to complete the signing quickly, with manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena viewing Villa as a priority. Independiente Rivadavia says any transfer proceeds will fund extensive stadium renovations—including a new covered west stand, expansion of the south stand, and upgraded press and administrative facilities—rather than signing a direct replacement for the forward.
