Sebeșu de Jos church reopened after restoration

The Dormition of the Mother of God Church in Sebeșu de Jos, located in southern Transylvania, has been reintroduced to the public following nearly four years of restoration and archaeological research.

Documented around 1741, the site is a unique example of Romanian sacred architecture. During restoration, researchers discovered that when the original small church became too small for the community, locals built a larger structure around it, preserving the original foundations within the new edifice.
