Sebrae announces TOP 100 Brazilian handicraft award winners

Sebrae has announced the winners of the 6th edition of the TOP 100 Handicraft Award, recognizing the 100 most competitive artisanal production units in Brazil. The competition received 1,647 entries, an increase from the previous edition.

Regional distribution shows the Northeast region leading with 44 winners, while Minas Gerais had the highest number of winners among individual states with 21. From the state of Acre, artisans Rodney Paiva and Maqueson Pereira were selected. Paiva’s ‘Rios Amazônicos’ collection, featuring materials like açaí and rubber tree bark, is currently being exhibited at the Maison&Objet fair in Paris.

Winners will be granted the right to use the award seal for three years to enhance market credibility. The award ceremony is scheduled for November 11 at the Centro Sebrae de Referência do Artesanato Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro.
