Sebrepor residents face persistent water shortage and high tanker costs
Residents of Sebrepor, located in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, are calling for urgent intervention due to a water shortage that has lasted for over a year. The lack of a reliable supply has disrupted essential daily activities, including cooking, bathing, and washing.
To cope with the shortage, many households have turned to private water tankers or alternative sources. However, residents report that the high cost of purchasing water from tankers is placing a significant financial burden on families. There are also growing concerns regarding the safety and quality of the alternative water sources being used.
Local authorities in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality have acknowledged the challenges, attributing the supply issues to pipeline repairs and increased demand.
