Sechura teachers begin specialized training via UDEP and FOSPIBAY
More than 200 secondary school teachers in the Sechura province have begun the third cycle of specialized diplomas offered by the Universidad de Piura (UDEP). This initiative is part of the ‘Sec Yurac’ educational project, which is funded by the Social Fund of the Bayóvar Integral Project (FOSPIBAY) in alliance with UGEL Sechura.
The training program covers 576 academic hours across several specialties, including Communication, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Sciences, and School Management. The project aims to strengthen pedagogical, disciplinary, and digital competencies among teachers and administrators, promoting the use of new teaching practices and digital tools.
Funding for the project is provided by FOSPIBAY through royalties from the Bayóvar project exploitation. Misky Mayo, the operator of the Bayóvar phosphates, is the primary contributor to the social fund, which directs resources toward development initiatives in Sechura.
